This is a piece I choreographed for my workshop final. I wish I had more time for more rehearsals to clean things up and make it even longer and more clear, but for now I am very pleased with it. It was a huge step out of the box for me to put my emotions into movement. I'm thinking this may be what I want my senior piece to be, we'll just have to wait and see. Please tell me what you think. I know it isn't the best recording since you can't see all the dancers at once (which you really need for the piece) but it'll do. A big shout out to my four dancers, Maralee, Liz, Alicia, and Sarah, they helped me so much and were so great to work with. Thanks girls!
So I was just sitting here (7:10 am) eating my breakfast and working on a paper when all of the sudden the door to my apartment opens a little. uuuuhhh.....SCARY! I went and shut it and pretty sure it was locked (not bolted just the bottom lock) That could've happened at any moment in the night and we would have had no idea.
I am quite positive I have one of the best FHE groups ever! Last monday we played hide and go seek in the Provo library, which was super fun and funny. Afterwards we went to dairy queen and sang disney songs. Everyone is so fun and I love it!
Saturday night I was hanging out with my dear friend Liz. We had decided we needed to do something really fun and to get out (do the whole provo thing and be social) Thats when I heard voices outside my door. I peeped through my peep hole and saw a kid from my ward Brian. I immediately opened the door to say hi. I asked him what he was doing and if he knew of anything going on. He came in and we started brain-storming ideas. It came down to vandalizing with the cans of spray paint that were left out in the quad from halloween.
On October 15 Kelsey and I ran a zombie race where when you registered you either signed up as a human or zombie. We were definitely zombies. The humans started the race two minutes before us zombies did so it looked like a bunch of zombies chasing humans. Fun idea huh? well we made our zombie costumes to run in...I think they turned out pretty great myself.
On Halloween my ward had a little party with trunk or treating and dancing. I was a zombie once again and a pretty good one, if I do say so myself I was CREEPY!
So I'm a little late on this, but over my fall break October 19-23 I visited Sam and Jenna in Denver. I had so much fun and it was so good to see those two. Jenna had almost everyday planned out with activities for me. We went to the denver zoo (on their free day, how cool!), Gooseberry pottery (a place like color me mine), carved pumpkins with their nieces who also live out there, they were such cute little girls (makes me excited for my own little niece to come in February :)), did some shopping at a thrift store and found some amazing pieces of clothing, I know I'm missing stuff, but that is all I have pictures of, and this is a run-on sentence.
jenna shrunk her wool sweater so of course I had to try it on traditional kim and jenna pose Jenna and I carved the hand and it wilted away :( It was my first time flying by myself and it was fine except for the fact I missed my flight back home. I definitely watched my plane pull away from the gate, it was probably one of the worst feelings. The ladies at the desk were very nice though and got me on the next flight.
I have now started listening to christmas music because of this wonderful guy. yes I know it is October and thanksgiving hasn't even happen yet, but I like christmas music ok? christmas music + justin bieber = AMAZING!
So I went to nightmare on 13th last night and part of our group got lost in a maze section so we were waiting in the next room when a girl walked up to me with a questioning look of why I was standing there and said "woah! that's scary!"
here is a little of my nail polish collection. Every time I go to the store I want to buy a new color. Also I've recently been changing my nail color about once a week. This week it is sew psyched by Essie (kinda looks like this font color)
before I get into the real reason of this post let me just tell you that there is construction going on outside my apartment and they were making the ground shake!
...anyway I teach ballet and tap at a little studio up in Salt Lake on Tuesdays and today was no ordinary day. The girls in my first class are about 4 year olds, two of them ran into each other and one started to cry so I went over to talk to her and asked her if I could get her anything. She immediately stopped crying and asked "do you have any food here?" and began to laugh. Then as we were nearing the end of class one girl told me she needed to go potty. I asked her if she remembered where it was, she did, so she left. Another one of the girls decided she needed to go too so she followed right after. A little later the first girl came down and told me that she wasn't fast enough and had peed on the ground and someone needed to clean it up. The other little girl came down after and told me that she wasn't able to go potty because of the peed on the ground. I told the girls to put their shoes and wait quietly for their moms as I went to see how bad it was. I was imagining a little bit of pee dribbled on the ground, but no there was definitely a puddle. I couldn't help laughing, but I felt bad for the little girl.
So an update is in order on a little that has gone on this summer. My sister Jen got engaged (and married (pictures to come)) We are all so excited for her!
Kelsey and I went to color me mine for a fine and dandy date. We spent a total of 10 hours working on our projects.
I took a trip up to Oakley and went to my first rodeo and had a sleep over with Kelsey who is from there. She showed me all that Oakley has to offer, and I love it up there!
Then there was the yearly lake powell trip which is where I turned the rightful age of 21!
ok so this isn't Lake Powell but it was the only boating picture I had PLUS look at the air!
Since I went up to Oakley Kelsey decided to come down to Sandy...we had a joyous time! Now I'm back in Provo living in Santa Barbara again and loving it. School started on Monday and I'm already tired and sore, but I guess thats what you get being a dance major.
